Look past the face…

Appearance is only the outside, chrysalis shell of a person. The butterfly beneath it is the soul that makes the mind

whole.

Whose Soul is Mind and Heart is Wisdom.

 Today I came to meet you, fragile creature;

 Bone brittle in your frame as you hunch over.

The crow’s feet stretching your eyes; an unfounded feature.

Yet in this lovely place I speak to you; this city of Dover.

 You uttered not a single word; your sister spoke for you.

 I thought your mind was just an empty boulder;

 So heavy that you would just sit because that was all you could do

 Yet you kept your head high and would not lean on your sister’s shoulder.

 Your eyes were sharp as daggers and fierce with a great  fire.

 I could look past them to see you; to see your inner child.

 I was wrong to judge you; your appearance is nothing but a liar.

 Your soul is your mind and it is sacred and wild.

 Forgive me, for thinking your weak body could be the domain of your kingdom;

When your heart is so strong and so full of wisdom.
