Kill Me With Your Kiss

Kill Me With Your Kiss

Kill me with your silk budded kiss

Thrust me the contagious love that I need

The whisper in your voice a deep, metallic hiss

Speak to me the words that my soul longs to feed

The reflection in your eyes is sweet, stinging bliss

Look into me and take very careful heed

If you do murder me and take no heed

You will never know that no dagger pierces more than your kiss

Without watch, you will never see my desires feed

That your perilous love is a wind with a deathly, gentle hiss

And it blows away the memory of what I thought I might need

An ashy storm cloud that thunders and rains bliss

I will drink the vile of your poisonous bliss

Not a single voice of reason will make me take heed

I will wait in bed for love’s sleep to come with your kiss

Then I will only have your passion to drink and feed

That voice of reason will be fainter than a hiss

It will be then that my mind will blur what I need

I stand here tossing away everything I thought I would need

Waiting to bath in the glory of love’s pure, black bliss

No more thoughts, just to jump off a cliff without heed

And let me be caught in the safety net of your kiss

I want to taste the ecstasy; that only thing my heart will allow itself to feed

The food of love that if I’m denied will make me into a broken wordless hiss

Now you speak to me in a soothing, quieted hiss

Telling me that I am all that you will ever need

Declaring that he will enrapture me in love’s fatal kiss

And I pray to him to not take any sort of heed

Why should we postpone such dark, beautiful bliss?

If we crave love’s wild passion let us go on and feed

Devore every morsel of delight until we are done with our feed

Fill my hearing with your raspy, bass hiss

Abolish all my fears and fulfill all I will ever need

Let us drown ourselves in a pool of consuming bliss

Releasing ourselves to love; never taking heed

Engrave a flame of allure in our surreal and mortal kiss

Unify ourselves in our love that will forever feed

On our spirits as crafty and evanescent as a hiss

But we will never regret because passion takes no heed

  1. I had a bit of a hard time following this poem “logically”, but I really like the feel and imagery to it, so after reading it a few times “intuitively”, this is what I gathered: that when one is so immersed in love and passion, even when one KNOWS that the passion involved may be detrimental and ultimately hurtful, it still doesn’t matter, being so swept away, you would rather die in the midst of it than give it up….Does that come close?

    • When I was writing this poem I didn’t have a specific idea in mind only that I wanted it to have a dark undertone to it. So I didn’t quite think of that when writing it, but reading back through the poem I think your interpretation is accurate. Thank you for commenting!
