When Love was a Choice and I had to Chose.

When Love was a Choice and I had to Chose

I stand here; our laugher is a glowing enrapture

Your smile breaks the cocoons of a million butterflies inside me

Something in your voice lets my emotions get captured

It’s the goodness in your heart that allows these feelings to be

I pondered a summer’s period, and not knowing if you felt the same I made my choice

Seeing that are paths cross rarely; and our lives seem to travel down opposite roads

I still don’t know who I am; I’m on an eternal quest to find my own voice

Now was not the time, for either of us, we both carry heavy emotional loads

When our paths do cross I can feel content yet trapped and compressed

There’s a cage around my heart; barred by frustration weighed down with lead

Frustrated with emotions that beg to stay; control is strengthening less and less

Attempting to grab the peace to push on and establish it in my head

I try to hold the tears of clogged emotions back tight

Knowing that the birth of love will never take flight

  4. I discovered your blog accidentally but what a treasure trove. Your poetry is profoundly moving yet beautifully accessible. That is your great gift- taking easily identifiable topics and giving them both gravitas and profundity in equal measure.
